Podcast Wizard helps record podcasts and enables publishing it.
Pros: Podcast wizard is in two logically separate parts. First is the production of the podcast file. One can specify sampling frequency, bit rate, mono or stereo recording. The very first option is if you are creating a new recording or adding to a existing podcast. Voice only or a podcast with music in the background can be specified. Background music can be selected from a samples library. One could add one’s own sample to this directory too. The mixing of the two channels is provided by the application. Adjust the mutual levels before starting of recording. Podcasts can be in mp3, WAV, WMA or OGG formats.
Next stage is actually recording the podcast through a mic of course. A visual indication in the form of a spectrum display is provided that shows the progress of recording. Same user interaction panel also works as the playback and verification screen. You could playback the podcast created and make sure everything’s fine.
It is equally easy to create a RSS feed and publish a podcast on a server. You are guided through the steps through interaction panels that are easy to understand. Podcast Wizard has a built-in FTP client and completely complies with the RSS 2.0 and iTunes specifications. This is the true value addition of the application. Recording part of the podcast is something that any other good recording program could do.
Simple, easy to use and intuitive user interface helps make this a really simple application to use. Most controls are visual and thus helpful.
Cons: Nothing problematic was detected.
Overall this is a 5 star candidate.
